Our Daily Challenge: Door Knob

Our Daily Challenge: Door Knob

I used this challenge to try a couple of new things. I've been told before that I should be shooting in RAW, but when I tried it briefly with my Windows machine, I had some difficulties. Since then I've gotten a Mac Pro, and a professional photographer talked me into buying Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 for Mac. I've been learning to use it by hunt and peck. I edited this RAW image in Lightroom 2. I chose for WB, Flash. I cropped it. I had previously found the frame and added my logo, but I had only been able to watch a slideshow. I was happy when I was able to save this as a jpeg that could be uploaded to Flickr.

It's just a shame that my cleaning person hasn't used a Q-tip to clean the dust from around the edges of the knob. The green in the handle is a reflection of the wallpaper. My reflection is also in the door knob. I could have used this for my self-portrait today.

I used my Nikon D80 with SB600 flash and 105mm VR Nikkor lens. I bounced the flash off the white ceiling, set the camera on macro, and chose Dynamic Focus Area (I think). I just play with my camera too. I knew how to set my 35mm film camera many years ago, but I really haven't figured out all the settings on my D80.

I was not able to post yesterday because my mother came back from a trip and I went to pick her up and spent the day with her:) It was great to hear she'd had so much fun:)

There was some rain here on Sunday and Monday morning and it really cleaned the air here in the city, you can see the Andes from the window in my room in such magnificence it is breathtaking. Snow fell on the peaks while it rained, it looks like some giant sprinkled a lot of sugar on them in an attempt to eat them when no one was looking :P

I will post some pics of my knitting progress tomorrow. I am starting a scarf today, that hopefully I can finish before thursday (the day I have knitting class) then I can ask for a few tips on some crochet flowers I would like to make:)

Emma has been moving a lot these days. I wonder if she is doing yoga or dancing to some crazy tunes in her head hehe:)

I posted some more shots of this flower below here, was not sure which one I like the most... White flowers are so hard to shoot for me...

Hope you guys have a happy tuesday!! :D
